Everyone should feel excited they’re given the opportunity to work on this.

There needs to be a vision.

It starts at the project kick off.

I try to provide a compelling answer for why this is exciting. Why it’ll provide value.

For a greenfield project, it’s easy. It’s exciting to work on something new.

For an iterative project, it can be harder. Show the difference you’re looking to create. How it fits into a broader vision. How it’ll affect people.

It should be clear how everyone’s effort is tied into that vision.

No one wants to be given a list of features. People want to see how things fit together.
